Financial Requirements:

Provide the name of the Wyoming financial institution and the name of the trust account which must include the Responsible Broker's name. If using a funds holder (Wyoming title company/ closing agent), include the name and address of the fund's holder and provide a signed copy of your agreement with the fund's holder.

Wyoming Real Estate Company License

Financial Requirements:

Provide the name of the Wyoming financial institution and the name of the trust account which must include the Responsible Broker's name. If using a funds holder (Wyoming title company/ closing agent), include the name and address of the fund's holder and provide a signed copy of your agreement with the fund's holder.

Insurance Requirements:

Certificate of errors and omissions insurance is required. 

Qualifying Individual Requirements:
  • Must provide a Wyoming Fingerprint card. Two properly executed fingerprint cards and $39 in certified funds or money order, made payable to the Office of the Attorney General. (Complete instructions can be found on our website).
    • Permits will not be issued until fingerprint cards are processed and a satisfactory report is received from the Dept. of Criminal Investigation.
    • Fingerprint cards can be submitted to the Board office prior to submitting your application to avoid possible delay in licensing.
  • A copy of your birth certificate and driver’s license OR passport.
  • A current photo emailed to realestatecommission@wyo.gov. Front facial view; no hats or sunglasses.
  • Proof of passing exam scores. If you do not hold an active real estate license in another jurisdiction, you must provide proof of passing scores on both the national and state exam.
    • If you are actively licensed in another state, you must provide proof of a passing score only on the state exam. A completed application must be received by the Commission within 90 days of the passing exam score receipt.
  • Proof of education hours. If you do not hold an active real estate license in another jurisdiction, you must provide course completion certificates for Broker Course I and Broker Course II.
    • If you presently hold an active real estate license in another jurisdiction, you must provide course completion certificates for the Wyoming portion of Broker Course I and Broker Course II.
    • The course completion certificates must evidence completion of the course within one year prior to the date of application. Additionally, if you are applying as a Responsible Broker, you must submit proof of completion of a Commission approved broker management course taken no more than two years prior to the application.
  • Must provide proof of having served actively for two of the four years immediately preceding the application as a salesperson or associate broker. 
    • If you have not, you must submit official college transcripts indicating that you hold a degree in real estate from an accredited university or college.
    • If you are actively licensed in another state, you must provide proof of having served actively for two of the four years immediately preceding the application as alike licensed real estate Responsible Broker or Associate Broker.
  • Additional documents for those actively licensed in another state:
    • A certified license history for each state in which you are or were licensed, current and expired. Include an exhaustive list of all jurisdictions in which you hold or ever held a license. You will also need to provide certified license histories for all jurisdictions listed. If you have let a license lapse in a jurisdiction, you will still need to provide proof that your previous license was in good standing when it expired.

  • The names of directors, officers, members or partners and their titles is required to be filled out in the application. If any person is not licensed, they will need to fill out an affidavit. 
  • If you are establishing an office in your home, a letter from your local zoning office is required showing approval.
