  • $298 exam fee (submitted to testing agency with application or paid online directly to testing agency
  • $500 license fee (license fee due upon receiving a passing exam score)
Notes:

An exam is required to qualify for a Private Alarm Contractor License in the State of Illinois. The exam is administered by Continental Testing. The process is:

  • Application packets, supporting documents, and application fees are sent to and processed by Continental Testing
  • Upon approval of these documents, an applicant will be scheduled for the next available examination and notified of the testing information (date/time/location)
  • A 70% or higher is needed to pass the exam
  • Once an applicant passes the exam, they will be sent a notice and prompted to provide verification of fingerprint processing, a Certificate of Insurance, and pay the license fee
