$20 for nonprofits and $50 for business corporations, LLCs, and limited partnerships.

Filing a fictitious name registration is required for most business entity types, and some entities may need to file at both the state and county level.

Filing is not required at the county level, however, businesses may need to file an assumed name registration in the city of principal business activity.

Registration of an assumed name does not offer name protection by itself, however, names must be distinguishable from other names on record with the department.

• Publication of registration is not required in Rhode Island.

Form 633: Annual Report for a Benefit Corporation

$60 report fee + $2.50 online filing fee

Annually within 120 days following the end of the fiscal year of the benefit corporation. The first report is due in the calendar year following incorporation or foreign qualification.
