California MH-Unit/Commercial Modular Dealer License

Application Requirements for Obtaining Occupational Licenses - Dealer and Manufacturer

Filing Method:

Mail

Agency Fee:
  • $1164 application fee for each established place of business
  • $250 manufactured home recovery fund fee for the principal place of business
  • $100 manufactured home recovery fund fee for each secondary location
  • $13 applicant verification fee for persons applying for a license as an individual owner
Notes:

Must have a place of business in The State of California.

Required Attachments:
  • Articles of Incorporation, Articles of Organization, or Partnership Agreement
  • Proof of valid registration with the Secretary of State
  • 1 photograph showing the exterior of the office at each established place of business
  • Live Scan Form: Manufactured Home Dealers
    • One for each person of the ownership structure as outlined in Part A
    • You must pay the live scan operator directly for fingerprints
  • 2 full facial photographs of each person of the ownership structure in Part A
    • Minimum size 1.25" x 1" taken from a minimum distance of 6 feet
  • Examination Receipt that each person of the ownership structure in Part A showing successful completion of the Manufactured Home/Mobilehome or Commercial Modular Dealer Examination within 6 months of the application date
  • Statement of Citizenship, Alienage, and Immigration Status in support of a request for state public benefits and proof of U.S. Citizenship or qualified alien status with a right to work in the United States
    • Only required for persons applying for a license as a sole or individual owner
  • Letter of Authorization from each manufacturer indicating its approval to sell manufactured homes, mobile homes, or commercial modular at your place of business address
  • Sample of your sales document (purchase orders, conditional sales contracts, security arrangements, receipts for deposit)

Registration Renewal

Form:

Renewal forms are specific to each licensee. These are generated and mailed out 90 days prior to the expiration of the license.

  • $810 for each established business location
  • Renewal payments can be made online if you request a document tracking number with the renewal request. A receipt of the online payment must be mailed in with the renewal documents.
Due:

Licenses expire biennially by the last day of the registration month. Renewals must be submitted one month before the expiration of the license.
