Vermont Real Estate Broker Firm License

Financial Requirements:

Provide the office trust account number, the name and location/address of the bank in which the
account is being held.

Qualifying Individual Requirements:

Provide the name and license number of the principal broker and principal broker in charge.

Initial Registration

Real Estate Brokerage Firm Application

Instructions:

If you will not be associated with an existing brokerage firm, and will be operating independently,
you must also complete a Brokerage Firm application.

  1. Complete online application and pay the fee
  2. Provide the office trust account number, the name and location/address of the bank in which the account is being held
  3. Provide the name and license number of the principal broker and pirncipal broker in charge 
  4. Upload a copy of your current Vermont Registered Businesss Registration

Before you Apply:
  • Endoresement: To qualify to be licensed, an applicant must be licensed or certified in good standing in another jurisdiction in which the standards and qualifications required for regulation in that jurisdiction are substantially equivalent to Vermont's.
    • Complete thte application and pay the fee
    • Complete the State exam and upload the exam answer sheet with your application 
    • Verification of employment/supervision form 
    • Provide Official Verification and the licensure requirements from your original state of licensure and from your most recent state of licensure, if different. This must be submitted directly to the state. 
  • Fast track endorsement: To qualify to be licensed, an applicant must be actively licensed or certified in good standing in another jurisdiction for three or more years preceding this application.
    • Complete the appliction and pay the fee
    • Verification of Licensure form. Provide verification of your most current state of licensure. Verification must show proof of continuous licensure in good standing for 3 years preceding the date of this application
    • If applicable, complete and upload the specific VT State Jurisprudence exam answer sheet.

Registration Renewal

Real Estate Brokerage Firm Renewal

Instructions:
  1. If you are logging in to the new system for the first time, you will be required to create a new password in our new system under your personal profile for your broker’s license. 
  2. To renew the office license, the currently designated licensee will need to log in to their individual profile and then click on their name located in the upper right corner with a drop-down arrow. Select the name of the business. Once on the business dashboard, click renew license to renew the shop. Instructions to access your business profile to renew an office license may be found in the "How to Guide" 
  3. Three (3) courtesy renewal reminders are sent to the email on file starting approximately 6 weeks prior to the renewal expiration date (March 31st of even years). It is your responsibility to ensure your email address is up to date. You may update your email by logging in to Online Licensing and updating your profile. Please check your spam folder and add our office to your safe senders list.
  4. When updating your profile, please be sure to enter your phone number without dashes, spaces or lines between the numbers. For example you must enter 8021234567 not 802-123-4567.
