Volusia County Contractor Registration

Volusia County, Fla., Municipal Code § 22-81 — 22-177.

Foreign Qualification is Prerequisite:No
Insurance Requirements:

General Contractors must have liability insurance in amounts not less than:

  • $300,000 general liability
  • $50,000 property damage

Electrical Contractors must have liability insurance in amounts not less than:

  • $300,000 per occurrence general liability
  • $100,000 per person general liability
  • $50,000 property damage

All Other Contractors must have liability insurance in amounts not less than: 

  • $100,000 general liability
  • $25,000 property damage

 

Notes:

The cities of Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach Shores, DeBary, DeLand, Deltona, Edgewater, Holly Hill, Lake Helen, New Smyrna Beach, Oak Hill, Orange City, Ormond Beach, Ponce Inlet, Port Orange, and South Daytona participate by interlocal agreement in the Volusia County Contractor Licensing Program. Registration includes all cities.

There is no fee to register as a contractor in Volusia County.

$45 if participating in the voluntary Volusia County Licensing Program.

Notes:

Contractors are given the option of participating in the Volusia County Licensing Program. This is a completely voluntary program. This program does not issue a license. This program gives a contractor access to the online portal to apply for permits, schedule inspections, and make payments. If a contractor chooses to decline participation in the Volusia County Licensing Program, proof of licensure and insurance will be required for each permit application.

Registration Renewal

Form:

There is no form to renew a contractor's registration in Volusia County. Email updated copies of all the required documents and write "Contractor Registration Update" in the subject line. If participating in the voluntary Volusia County Licensing program, please indicate that in the body of the email.
