There is currently no fee to obtain a DOT number, although the FMCSA has plans to eventually charge a fee.

Registration Renewal

Agency Fee:

There is no fee to file a renewal.

Due:

Due biennially based on the following criteria: If your DOT number ends in a 1, your renewal is due at the end of January, 2 =February, 3=March, 4=April, 5=May, 6=June, 7=July, 8=August, 9=September, and 0=October. If the second to last digit of your DOT number is even, file renewal every even-numbered year. If the second to last digit is odd, file in odd-numbered years.

Use this application to file the biennial renewal of your FMCSA registration.

Mail or online.

Agency Fee:

There is no fee to update a registration.

Due:

Only due if your company changes name, address, or other details associated with your USDOT number.

Use this application to update information on your FMCSA registration.
