Before you Apply:

Businesses physically located in Kansas City, KS will need to fill out a zoning application prior to an occupational tax application.

Upon a successful zoning inspection, an occupation tax application may be submitted.

    • Must use agency-provided bond sheet
    • Must have a signed face sheet along with the power of attorney page
  • State License, if applicable

Due:

Annually by December 31. Renewals can begin December 1.

Penalties:

Renewals filed after March 1 will face a 10% penalty which will be assessed each month the tax is past due.

Notes:

Renewal notices with instructions will be mailed out at the beginning of December.
