Arizona Entity / Employing Broker License

Agency:Arizona Department of Real Estate
Eligible Entity Types:
  • Corporations
  • Limited Liability Companies
  • Limited Partnerships
  • Limited Liability Partnerships
  • General Partnerships
Foreign Qualification is Prerequisite:Yes
Ownership Requirements:

For Corporations:

  • The designated broker must be an officer of the corporation.

For Professional Corporations:

  • At least half of the directors and the president, if any, must be licensed to render a professional service described in the corporation's articles of incorporation.
  • All voting shareholders must be licensed to render a professional service described in the corporation's articles of incorporation.

For Limited Liability Companies:

  • The designated broker must be a member or manager of the LLC.

For Partnerships:

  • The designated broker must be a partner of the general partner if the general partner is a partnership.
  • The designated broker must be a corporate officer of the corporate partner if the general partner is a corporation.
  • The designated broker must be a member of the member-managed limited liability company or manager of the manager-managed limited liability company if the general partner is a limited liability company.
  • A limited partner of a partnership must not be designated broker for the partnership.
Notes:

Changes must be reported to the board within 10 days. 

Initial Registration

Form:

Entity / Employing Broker License Application or Professional Corporation (PC) or a Professional Limited Liability Corporation (PLLC) Application

Filing Method:

Scan completed LI-213, and required documents, and submit to the Department through their messaging platform

Notes:

Firms need to have their name approved before filing with the secretary of state.

Before you Apply:
  • Needs to have a branch office with an AZ-licensed branch manager who is not the designated broker (2 applications)
  • Stringent name approval process (10-15 days)
  • Provide AZ trust account info or specify if you’re using an AZ- based title company
  • Appoint a custodian of records
  • Personal information for owners holding 10% or more interest in the company
  • Board/Member/Manager resolution to appoint the designated broker
  • Personal information for the designated broker (generally licensed in the state but doesn’t need to reside there)
    • Designated broker is most often the party signing the forms

Arizona Real Estate Broker License

Agency:Arizona Department of Real Estate

Initial Registration

Agency Fee:

$125 license fee + $20 real estate recovery fund fee

Notes:

Candidates are issued the License Application by the testing company upon passing the state Broker’s license examination.

Registration Renewal

Filing Method:

Online

Agency Fee:

$120 for online filing or $250 for in-person or mailed filing

Due:

Biennially by the end of the registration anniversary month.

Arizona Real Estate Salesperson License

Agency:Arizona Department of Real Estate

Initial Registration

Agency Fee:

$50 license fee + $10 real estate recovery fund fee

Notes:

Candidates are issued the License Application by the testing company upon passing the Salesperson state license examination.

Registration Renewal

Filing Method:

Online

Agency Fee:

$60 for online filing or $125 for in-person or mailed filing

Due:

Biennially by the end of the registration anniversary month.
