Notes:	There are four classes of certifications RA - Permits servicing, recharging, installing, or inspecting fixed extinguishing systems by a currently certified manufacturer's distributor RB - Permits servicing, recharging, installing, or inspecting portable fire extinguishers RC - Permits hydrostatic testing of non-dot cylinders, including wet chemical or dry chemical containers RD - Permits servicing, recharging, and inspecting fixed extinguishing systems Certification is through the ICC/NAFED is required for RB through RD classes. Exams, prep seminars, and sample exams can be found at the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors website. If you are a distributor located within or doing work in Kansas, let NAFED help you meet the state's new certification requirements. According to the State of Kansas, Article 10, Installation and Certification Standards for Extinguishing Devices, Section 22-10-3 (B), which was amended in February 2011, a current certification through the ICC/NAFED is required in order to obtain a registration certificate from the state fire marshal. Renewal applications shall be submitted to the Office of the State Fire Marshal on or before November 30th of the year of expiration.
