To change an existing registered agent, you need to file the Statutory Agent Update form with the Ohio secretary of state. This document can be used by all filing entities besides limited liability partnerships, which must file an amendment.

If the existing agent’s information changes, Ohio’s law states that either you or the agent can update the secretary of state. A notable benefit of commercial agents is that they often take on this responsibility, as they can update their information on behalf of all represented entities.

This is done through the Multiple Agent Name and Address Change form, but note that your agent must represent at least six entities registered with the secretary of state before they can use this form.
